RVC's Morvillo Honored by South Nassau

Longtime RVC resident and defense attorney Robert G. Morvillo was recently honored at South Nassau's 2010 Annual Carnation Ball held at the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City.

Morvillo, a member of South Nassau's board of directors, was the Carnation Ball's honoree and was recognized for exemplary leadership and contributions in support of South Nassau's mission to provide cost-effective, high-quality healthcare.

"The leadership provided by Mr. Morvillo and Ms. Mooney and their commitment to service excellence have been vital to South Nassau's ongoing expansion to meet the healthcare needs of the patients and communities we serve," said Joseph A. Quagliata, president and CEO of South Nassau. 

The annual ball raised more than $750,000, a record for the event, and will be used to support South Nassau's Center for Advanced Orthopedics and Long Island Joint Replacement Institute.

Morvillo has served on South Nassau's board directors since 2004 and his support and generosity have helped South Nassau continue to achieve unprecedented growth despite a tumultuous economy for New York's hospitals.  This is highlighted by the opening of South Nassau's Center for Cardiovascular Health and Center for Advanced Orthopedics and Long Island Joint Replacement Institute; and the introduction of state-of-the art medical technologies such as the Varian Novalis Tx (the medical industry's most advanced radiosurgery system) and the da Vinci Robotic Surgical System.
