RVC Schools Granted $47K for District Projects

The Rockville Centre School District was recently awarded $47,380 in grants by the Rockville Centre Education Foundation that will be used for various projects for students.

The gift, which was accepted at the May 28 board of education meeting, will cover a total of 19 projects, including a WeatherBug at South Side Middle School that will allow the installation of a rooftop weather station. It will also provide a BioArt Enrichment Program at South Side High School that aims to enrich art students' experiences and artwork by integrating biology and earth science concepts, tools and methods.

“We appreciate the incredible support the Rockville Centre Education Foundation has provided our students and staff with their granting program year after year,” said Christopher Pellettieri, assistant superintendent of curriculum and instruction. “Our students are enriched beyond what we can do by ourselves as a school district because we always want to do more. The Ed Foundation has consistently filled that void for us and been an invaluable partner in the education of Rockville Centre’s youth. We cannot thank them enough.”
