Village Opens Cooling Centers to Beat Heat
Stay cool and hydrated at the Sandel Senior Center or recreation center.
Cooling centers offering air conditioning and water will be operating at the Sandel Senior Center and the Recreation Center from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. today during the expected high heat.
The centers are jointly sponsored by the village and the Nassau County of Emergency Management, who is supplying Community Emergency Response team volunteers at the locations. American Red Cross volunteers will also participate.
The recreation center is located at 111 North Oceanside Road and the Sandel Senior Center is at the corner of South Park and Lincoln avenues.
