Two Robbed by Masked Man With Gun in Baldwin

Story originally published on July 10 at 10:54 a.m.

Two people were robbed by a masked man with a gun early Tuesday morning in Baldwin.

Police said at about 3:07 a.m., the 20-year-old female victim was dropping off a 20-year-old male friend at Brooklyn Avenue and Spruce Street when the male black suspect approached the rear driver’s side of the vehicle.

The suspect — described as 5 foot 11 inches, stock build and wearing dark pants and a dark hooded shirt with a yellow symbol on front — reached into the car, grabbed the female victim by the hair, pushed her head down and told her not to move, police said.

The male passenger then asked the suspect why he had a gun out. Police said the suspect then took the victim’s cell phone and wallet and fled the scene in an unknown direction.

No injuries were reported.

Detectives ask that anyone with information about this crime should contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
