RVCPD to Increase DWI Patrols for July 4 Weekend

The Rockville Centre Police Department will be joined by other local law enforcement officers to “aggressively” enforced driving while intoxicated violations during Fourth of July weekend.

The enforcement aims to take drunk and drugged drivers off of Nassau County roadways, allowing motorists a safer commute while traveling and possibly saving lives.

During the Fourth of July weekend, the RVCPD will deploy additional marked and unmarked patrol vehicles and police officers to provide routine traffic enforcement as well as look for motorists who are operating motor vehicles while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. This enforcement will be enhanced by additional funding from the Nassau County Traffic Safety “STOP DWI” Program, a grant from the New York State STOP DWI Coordinators Association, and the Governor's Traffic Safety Committee.
