RVCPD Adds New SUV to Fleet

Will serve as an incident command post for the patrol supervisor at the scenes of emergencies.

The Rockville Centre Police Department recently added a new sergeants’ patrol vehicle to its fleet.

The four-wheel drive SUV will provide improved response in inclement weather, such as heavy snow accumulations, and will serve as an incident command post for the patrol supervisor at the scenes of emergencies.

The vehicle can carry equipment that would not fit in a standard police patrol car. On hand to mark the vehicle’s entry into service are Rockville Centre Police Commissioner Chuck Gennario, Deputy Mayor Nancy Howard, Police Sergeant Brian Burke behind the wheel, Mayor Fran Murray and Trustee Ed Oppenheimer
