Man Robbed at Gunpoint Near Morgan Day's Field

A 29-year-old man was robbed at gunpoint at 3 a.m. today after meeting up with a woman he had met on the Internet, police said.

According to Nassau County detectives, a 29-year-old man met a Hispanic woman through a social networking site, and the two continued their relationship via text messages. The two arranged to meet each other in the north parking lot of Morgan Day's Field.

After the woman got into the victim's vehicle, she received a phone call and exited the car. A few minutes later, an unknown Hispanic man entered the victim's car, brandished a silver handgun and demanded money. The suspect later fled in an unknown direction. No injuries were reported.
