Crimes Nearby: Teens Arrested for Paintball Gun Shootings

The following information was supplied by the Lynbrook, Malverne and Nassau County Police Departments. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate guilt.

Arrests

  • Juan C. Ventura, 28, of Woodmere, was arrested on Nov. 12 at 6:55 p.m. and charged with two counts of Aggravated Unlicensed Operation  and Failure to Maintain Lane on Merrick Road in Lynbrook.
  • Omkar Ramdeholl, 22, of Queens Village, was arrested on Nov. 13 at 4:35 a.m. and charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument and two counts of Grand Larceny at 649 Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook.
  • Gowchan Chinsammy, 21, of Queens Village, was arrested on Nov. 13 at 4:35 a.m. and charged with two counts Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument at 649 Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook.
  • Chetram Karan,23, of Queens Village, was arrested on Nov. 13 at 4:35 a.m. and charged with two counts Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument at 649 Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook.
  • Stephanie Malik, 31, of Queens Village, was arrested on Nov. 13 at 4:35 a.m. and charged with two counts Criminal Possession of a Forged Instrument at 649 Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook.
  • Anthony H. Cassino, 38, of Bellmore, was arrested on Nov. 13 at 6:40 p.m. and charged with two counts of Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance and Criminal Possession of a Weapon at 490 Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook.
  • Samantha Pullara, 34, of Farmingdale, was arrested on Nov. 13 at 6:40 p.m. and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance at 490 Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook.
  • Andrew P. Harris, 21, of Valley Stream, was arrested on Nov. 14 at 3:05 p.m. and charged with Criminal Possession of Marijuana on Union Place in Lynbrook.
  • John J. Becker, 41, of Lynbrook, was arrested on Nov. 17 at 10:55 p.m. and charged with Criminal Possession of Marijuana on Windsor Place in Lynbrook.
  • Roger H. Reed 48, of Brooklyn, was arrested on Nov. 17 at 10:55 p.m. and charged with Criminal Possession of Marijuana on Windsor Place in Lynbrook.
  • Arron K. Findley, 19, of Brooklyn, was arrested on Nov. 18 at 8:10 p.m. and charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation, Unreasonable Speed, two counts of Failure to Signal a Lane Change and Uninsured Motor Vehicle on Sunrise Highway in Lynbrook.

Unauthorized Use of Motor Vehicle

  • At 4:05 p.m. on Nov. 15, the manager of Enterprise Rent-a-Car located at 184 Merrick Road in Lynbrook reported that their 2011 Dodge Charger, which was rented on Aug. 29, had not been returned. The value of the vehicle is $20,000.

Grand Larceny

  • At 6:50 p.m. on Nov. 16, a complainant reported that an unknown person(s) removed their bicycle, a 2010 Giant Model 500, which was locked to the bicycle rack at the Lynbrook LIRR station. The bicycle is valued at $1,200.

Teens Arrested for Paintball Gun Shootings

Five teenagers were arrested last Friday, Nov. 16, on reckless endangerment charges after multiple incidents involving a paintball gun.

According to Nassau County detectives, Adon Modesto, 19, of Brentwood, Juan Estrella, 18, of Roosevelt, Fritz Joseph, 17, of Uniondale, Chucky Orellana, 17, of Uniondale and Josue Rubert, 18, of Uniondale, were stopped by officers from the Bureau of Special Operations on Baldwin Road in South Hempstead.

The defendants were found in a 2009 Honda that was observed earlier on Cedar Street in Uniondale from which paintball shots were allegedly fired at a 28-year-old male victim and at a Cedar Street residence causing a broken front window, police said.

Modesto, Estrella, Joseph, Orellana and Rubert are being charged with reckless endangerment in the second degree.

Following an investigation by the First Squad, Modesto, Estrella and Joseph were charged in connection with a related incident that occurred on Babylon Turnpike in Roosevelt on Nov. 11, 2012 at 2:50 a.m. in which a 47-year-old male victim sustained a serious injury to his left eye, police said.

Additionally Modesto, Estrella and Joseph are being charged with assault in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree. Estrella is also being charged with criminal mischief in the third degree.

The five defendants were arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Nov. 18.
