Crimes Nearby: Man Robbed at Gunpoint in Own Driveway

Arrests

  • Nov. 30 - at 11:20 p.m., Alan C. Sobel, 52, of Lynbrook, was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and failure to obey a traffic control device on Sunrise Highway.
  • Dec. 1 -  at 2:30 p.m, Christopher Jean-Baptiste, 23, of Elmont, was arrested and charged with unlawful possession of marijuana on Sunrise Highway.

  • Petit Larceny – At 8:51 a.m. on Nov. 30, the complainant reports that an unknown person(s) did remove a package that was delivered to their home and left in front of their door. The package contained a Bose speaker system valued at $650. The complainant resides on Hempstead Avenue.
  • Criminal Mischief – At 10:50 p.m. on Nov. 30, the complainant reports that an unknown person(s) did damage both mirrors on their 2005 Hyundai which was parked on John Street. The value of the damage is $200.
  • Grand Larceny - At 2:20 p.m. on Dec. 2, the complainant reports that a 2012 Ford E350 cargo van was stolen from the storage yard of Crown Ford located at 420 Merrick Road. The value of the van is $32,850.

The first male is described as a male black, 20-30 years old, 5’9” to 5’ 10”, with a dark complexion, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt. The second is described as a male black, 20-30 years old with a dark complexion.

Both males were armed with handguns. The males forced the victim to drive to an ATM and withdraw money from his account. The males then drove around and stopped on a side street when they removed the victim from his auto and placed the victim into a gray or silver Nissan Maxima or Sentra.  

The males then continued to drive to ATMs attempting to remove money from the victim’s account. The males removed $200 from the victim’s account, a black wallet containing the victim’s driver’s license, credit cards and an android cell phone. The males were accompanied by another male black and a female black, no further description given. The victim was released on Mill Rd in Valley Stream.

  • Petty Larceny - At 12:10 p.m. on Dec. 5, the complainant reports that unknown person(s) did make unauthorized charges on their debit card in Harrisburg, Penn. The value of the charges is $917.19.
