  • Nov. 9, 10:56 a.m. - Louis W. Capone, 33, of Valley Stream, was arrested and charged with aggravated harassment for an incident that occurred on Park Place.
  • Nov. 10, 3:55 p.m. - Aiyun Li, 62, of Bayside, was arrested and charged with unauthorized practice. The incident occurred at Magical Relaxation Center located at 29 Hempstead Ave. This arrest is for a NYS Education Law which lists the professions that have to be licensed. One of the professions listed is for massage therapy and the arrestee was not licensed, according to Lynbrook Police.
  • Nov. 12, 4:50 a.m. - Ramie A. Lawrence, 22, of Far Rockaway, was arrested and charged with aggravated unlicensed operation and improper left turn on Walnut Street.
  • Nov. 13, 1:10 a.m. - Anthony J. Chayka, 49, of Massapequa, was arrested and charged with assault and two counts of criminal mischief on Waterview Place.

Case Reports

  • Identity Theft – At 2:15 p.m. on Nov. 7, the complainant reports that an unknown person(s) used their name to gain access to $1,499.
  • Petty Larceny – At 9:35 p.m. on Nov. 8, the complainant reports that an unknown person(s) entered a storage pod located on Hutcheson Place and removed four cable boxes, two cable modems valued at $600 and also assorted personal paperwork.
  • Identity Theft - At 3:30 p.m. on Nov. 12, the complainant reports that an unknown person(s) made two unauthorized transactions on their debit card account. The total value of the charges is $1,506.31.
  • Criminal Mischief - At 11:30 a.m. on Nov. 5, the complainant reported that unknown person(s) damaged their Toyota while it was parked in Municipal Parking Field No. 12. The vehicle was scratched with an unknown object.
  • Burglary - At 3:45 p.m. on Nov. 10, the complainant reported that an unknown person(s) entered their home located at 103 Lawrence Ave. through a rear window and removed a cell phone, electronic equipment and assorted jewelry. The burglary occurred between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Prohibited Sale of Alcoholic Beverage

  • In response to community complaints, Fifth Precinct POP officers conducted investigations of two West Hempstead businesses for the sale of alcoholic beverages to minors. They arrested Atta Mohammad, of West Hempstead, on Nov. 9 for allegedly selling an alcoholic beverage to an underage police agent without asking for identification while working at the Mobil gas station on Hempstead Turnpike. Melvin Tiburcio, of Freeport, was also arrested on the same charges on Nov. 10 while working at the Middle Store Deli and Grocery on Woodfield Road in Lakeview.
  • Nassau County POP officers also conducted an investigation on Nov. 9 at an unnamed business on W. Sunrise Highway in Valley Stream and charged Piyush Patel, of Elmhurst, for selling an alcoholic beverage to an underage police agent without asking for identification.

Burglaries

  • A Franklin Square home located on Monroe Street and a North Valley Stream home located on Jasper Street were both burglarized on Nov. 8.
  • Two Valley Stream homes - one on Carroll Avenue and another on N. Terrace Place - were burglarized on Nov. 10. There was also an attempted burglary at a home on Horton Road in Valley Stream this week.

Grand Larcenies

  • A motorcycle was stolen from a home on Colony Street in West Hempstead between Nov. 4 and Nov. 8, but the vehicle did not have a battery in it.
  • A woman living on 237th Street in Elmont awoke to the sound of her car's muffler on Nov. 10 and looked outside to see her vehicle was being stolen. The thief was driving it down 115th street.

Tires and Rims

  • Tires and rims were stolen off of cars parked outside a home on Semton Boulevard in Franklin Square, in the driveway of an Elmont home on Parkway Drive and at Mid Valley Collision on Hempstead Turnpike in Franklin Square between Nov. 7 and Nov. 11.

Criminal Mischief

  • A car was reportedly keyed on both sides while parked in the driveway of home on Roosevelt Street in West Hempstead between Nov. 10 and Nov. 12.
  • The front glass door of Palin Barber Shop in West Hempstead was shattered by an unknown person on Nov. 12.
  • A woman reportedly parked her car at Green Acres Mall in Valley Stream on Nov. 14 and returned to find the glass of both side view mirrors was missing and the passenger and driver's side doors had sustained minor scratches.
  • Someone wearing what appeared to be a boot kicked a car parked on Brunswick Place in Elmont on Nov. 12, creating a dent in the right rear quarter panel.
