Crime Watch: Student Found With Knife at South Side

Recent police activity as reported by the RVCPD.

The following information was supplied by the Rockville Centre Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation and does not indicate a conviction.

Arrests

  • On Oct. 17 at 4:49 a.m., George White, 43, of Hempstead, was arrested for burglary in the third degree following a police investigation at Molloy College.
  • On Oct. 18 at 11:05 a.m., Thomas J. Russo, 22 of Levittown, was arrested for speed contest and vehicle and traffic law violations following an investigation by police personnel in the vicinity of Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre.
  • On Oct. 18 at 11:05 a.m., Joseph J Badello, 23, of Franklin Square was arrested for speed contest and vehicle and traffic law violations following an investigation by police personnel in the vicinity of Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre.
  • On Oct. 18 at 4:46 a.m., Daniel Amann, 26, of Oceanside, was arrested for driving while intoxicated and vehicle and traffic law violations following an investigation by police personnel in the vicinity of Arlington Avenue in Rockville Centre.
  • On Oct. 19 at 11:25 p.m., Mary Palazzolo, 43, of Rockville Centre, was arrested for assault in the third degree following an investigation by police personnel at her residence.
  • On Oct. 21 at 10:26 p.m., Robert M. Sutton, 42 of Freeport, was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest following a police investigation on S. Park Avenue in Rockville Centre.

  • On Oct. 16 at 1:05 p.m., a 15-year-old South Side High School student was custodialized for criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree following a police investigation on Shepherd Street in Rockville Centre. Rockville Centre Superintendent William H. Johnson told Patch, "Somebody did come into school with a knife and we called the police."

Burglary (attempt)

  • On Oct. 19 at 11:59 a.m., a complainant from Bulson Road in Rockville Centre reported that at approximately 11:55 a.m., unknown person(s) apparently attempted to gain access to the residence by damaging a rear bathroom window with a piece of wood.
