Crime Watch: Robbery Arrest, Cabo Security Hit With Glass

The following information was supplied by the Rockville Centre Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Arrest

  • Corey A. Bateman, 22, of Freeport, was arrested on Nov. 10 at 9:02 p.m. and charged with third-degree robbery and fourth-degree criminal mischief following an investigation by police personnel on Sunrise Highway.

Assault

  • A complainant from Hempstead reported to police on Nov. 9 at 1:05 a.m. that a known male subject hit him with a glass, causing facial lacerations, while he was working security at Cabo, located at 3A North Park Avenue.

Harassment

  • A complainant from Old Mill Court reported to police on Nov. 8 at 12:02 p.m. that sometime since Nov. 6, an unknown person(s) sent two threatening letters to the residence, causing annoyance and alarm.

Larceny

  • A complainant from Valley Stream reported to police on Nov. 4 at 10:40 p.m. that an unknown person(s) stole his Apple iPhone 5, valued at $650, from a restroom at Dolphin Fitness, located at 279 Sunrise Highway.

  • The manager of 7-Eleven, located at 324 Merrick Rd., reported to police on Nov. 5 at 9:35 a.m. that on two occasions since Nov. 3, two unknown male subjects stole property valued at $350 and $40 from the store.

  • A complainant from Reid Avenue reported to police on Nov. 7 that sometime between 11 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., an unknown person(s) stole a Garmin GPS unit valued at $150 from her unlocked vehicle that was parked at 221 North Village Ave.

  • The manager of Enterprise, located at 602 Sunrise Highway, reported to police on Nov. 9 that at approximately 2:30 a.m., two unknown subjects were dropped off by a motor vehicle at the car rental parking lot and damaged two vehicles.

  • Unusual Incident

    • A complainant from Morris Avenue reported to police on Nov. 7 at 7:40 p.m. that sometime since Nov. 6, an unknown person(s) debited $1,159 from her Citibank MasterCard account without authorization.

  • A complainant from Burtis Avenue reported to police on Nov. 8 at 4:22 p.m. that an unknown man removed an item from a neighbor’s mailbox without permission.
