Crime Watch Part Two: Sunrise Car Dealership Hit for Rims and Tires

Recent police activity as reported by the RVC PD.

Larceny:

On Oct. 3, a complainant from Rockville Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that sometime between Sept. 24 at noon and Sept. 27 at 6:30 a.m., unknown person(s) stole a Dell lap top computer valued at $2,500 from a bedroom drawer.

On Oct. 2, a complainant from Kenmore Road in Valley Stream reported that unknown person(s) stole her pocketbook while shopping at King Kullen, located at 127 Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre between 2-3 p.m.

On Sept. 29 at 9:45 a.m., a complainant from Saint Agnes Cathedral, located at 29 Quealy Place in Rockville Centre, reported that sometime between Thursday, Sept. 22 at 9 a.m. and Sept. 28 at 6:30 a.m., unknown person(s) stole a chalice valued at approximately $10,000 from a closet in the rear of the cathedral.

On Sept. 28, a complainant from Lenox Road in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) stole two iPods valued at $400 from her VW parked in front of 55 Lenox Road in Rockville Centre. The two stolen iPods had been recovered from an arrested subject on Sept. 27 and were returned to complainant.

On Sept. 28, a complainant from Pine Street in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) stole his ten-speed bicycle from 165 N. Village Ave. in Rockville Centre.

On Sept. 27 at 1:30 p.m., complainant security director from Mercy Medical Center, located at 1000 N. Village Ave. in Rockville Centre, reported that on Sept. 25 at 9:55 p.m., an unknown person stole approximately $50 from a donation box located in the hospital lobby.

On Sept. 28 at 3:11 a.m., complainant manager from Morrissey, located at 310 Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre, reported that eight rims and tires were stolen from two vehicles discovered on cinder blocks parked in the dealership lot. Four rims and tires were recovered at the scene and a backpack containing tools was recovered in the vicinity.

On Oct. 1 at 5:55 p.m., a complainant from N. Park Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) stole property including $3,000 and a wallet from his 1999 Jeep motor vehicle parked in the rear of 5 Pennies Creamery at 11 N. Park Ave. in Rockville Centre between 12:20 p.m. and 5:40 p.m.

On Oct. 1 at 4:47 p.m., a complainant from Oak Street in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) stole property including a Samsung Galaxy Computer valued at $500 from her 2010 Volvo parked in the driveway of her residence between Sept. 28 at 5:30 p.m. and Oct. 1 at noon.

On Oct. 4 at 12:15 p.m., a complainant from Dogwood Lane in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) stole approximately $3,000 worth of sterling silver utensils from her residence sometime since approximately April, 2011.

ID Theft:

On Oct. 4 at 9:30 a.m., a complainant from Old Mill Court in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) used her personal information to open credit cards without authorization.

Trespass:

On Oct. 2 at 12:15 a.m., a complainant from Jewel Avenue in Flushing reported that an unknown person was observed through a rear window of a Dover Court in Rockville Centre residence where she was babysitting.

Criminal Mischief:

On Oct. 4 at 7:45 p.m., a complainant from Thomas Road in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) damaged her 2005 Honda while it was parked at Fonda Road and Knollwood Road in Rockville Centre between 12:45 p.m. and 2:45 p.m.

Unusual Incident:

On Oct. 2 at 4:30 p.m., a complainant from Dartmouth Street in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) made three unauthorized debit purchases totaling $642.64 from her Astoria Federal Savings checking account.

On Sept. 29 at 7:25 p.m., a complainant from Dartmouth Street in Rockville Centre reported that on Sept. 20, unknown person(s) accessed his Chase Bank account and withdrew $1,000 without authorization.

On Sept. 29 at 11:45 a.m., a complainant from Lenox Road in Rockville Centre reported that sometime between Sept. 27 at noon and Sept. 29 at 11:30 a.m., unknown person(s) entered her 2000 Dodge parked at her apartment building and left the rear passenger door open without authorization.

On Oct. 4 at 1:06 p.m., complainant principal from South Side High School on Shepherd Street in Rockville Centre reported that the parent of a student recovered Facebook messages wherein two known individuals threatened various acts of violence targeting South Side High School and Saint Agnes Cathedral. One subject was taken to NUMC as an aided following an investigation by NC First Squad detectives.
