Crime Watch Part Two: Property Damage, Fake Tax Returns Filed

Recent police activity as reported by the RVC PD.

ID Theft:

On April 21 at 8:45 p.m., a complainant from Windsor Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) used his Discover credit card number to make unauthorized purchases from a Michigan supermarket totaling $1,619.38.

Unusual Incident:

On April 16 at 10:30 a.m., a N. Village Avenue, Rockville Centre resident reported an unknown person filed a tax return using his social security number.

On April 16 at 10:45 a.m., a N. Forest Avenue, Rockville Centre resident reported an unknown person used her identity to open a credit account.

On April 18 at 6:10 p.m., a complainant from Merrick Road in Rockville Centre reported that an unknown person used his social security number to file a tax return without authorization.

On April 19 at 5:30 p.m., a complainant from Lincoln Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) forged her name and cashed a missing check against her TD Bank account for $600 without authorization.

Criminal Mischief:

On April 16 at 1 p.m., a NYS Police Investigator reported an unknown person damaged his work vehicle while it was parked in MPF No. 21 over the weekend.

On April 18 at noon, a complainant from Montauk Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that sometime between April 17 at 6 p.m. and April 18 at 9:30 a.m., unknown person(s) damaged a door hinge at her building located at 152 S. Long Beach Road in Rockville Centre; there was no apparent entry or loss at the time of report.

On April 22 at 4 p.m., a complainant from Hamilton Street in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) damaged her 2007 Chevrolet sometime between 11 a.m. and 3:56 p.m. while vehicle was parked in the driveway.

Property Damage:

On April 17 at 4:10 p.m., complainant superintendent from S. Forest Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that sometime between 5:30 a.m. and 9 a.m., unknown person(s) damaged the stockade fence in the vicinity of the parking area.

On April 17 at 12:10 p.m., a complainant from Clinton Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that sometime between April 13 at noon and April 17 at noon, unknown person(s) damaged his 2005 Dodge while it was parked in Municipal Parking Field No. 17 in Rockville Centre.

Investigation:

On April 21 at 8:20 p.m., a complainant from Banks Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that his dog was injured by another resident’s dog resulting in veterinary costs of $3,976.70.
