Crime Watch Part Two: Possible Shots Fired on Meehan Lane

Recent police activity as reported by the RVC PD.

Assault Investigation:

On Nov. 22 at about 7:26 p.m., police officers responded to an assignment for “shots fired” on Meehan Lane in Rockville Centre. Upon arrival, officers were unable to locate any evidence of shots fired or persons injured at the location. Shortly thereafter, Nassau County Police reported that two male gunshot victims walked into South Nassau Hospital. Victim one, of Hempstead, had a graze wound to his right shoulder and victim two, of Uniondale, had a gunshot wound to his left upper arm. The victims refused to cooperate with investigating police officers.

On Nov. 21 at 11 a.m., a Hempstead resident reported her 2000 Nissan X-Terra was stolen from in front of the Martin Luther King Center on N. Centre Avenue in Rockville Centre. The owner reportedly left the vehicle running and unattended while she dropped her child off at daycare. The vehicle was recovered by the owner in Hempstead at about 11:30 p.m. on Nov. 21.

On Nov. 21 at 4:10 p.m., a Manhasset resident reported the theft of his 2011 Toyota Camry from the parking lot of 165 N. Village Ave. in Rockville Centre. The victim stated an unknown person entered his office in the building where he is employed as a psychologist and removed the keys for the vehicle from his jacket.

On Nov. 26 at 3:55 a.m., a complainant from Linden Boulevard in Hicksville reported that an unknown person operating a gold or silver ME/BZ motor vehicle stole his Apple iPhone valued at $350 while in the vicinity of 5 N. Village Ave. in Rockville Centre.

On Nov. 26 at 11 a.m., a complainant from Evergreen Avenue in Lynbrook reported that her wallet containing credit/debit cards was stolen while in the vicinity of N. Park Avenue in Rockville Centre. The complainant reported that unauthorized purchases totaling approximately $1,600 were made against her accounts sometime after the wallet was taken by unknown person(s).

Property Damage:

On Nov. 26 at 5:30 p.m., a complainant from Skunk Lane in Cutchogue reported that a Red Box DVD kiosk located at 7-11 Store, 324 Merrick Road in Rockville Centre, was damaged by unknown means sometime between Nov. 25 at 8 p.m. and Nov. 26 at 5 p.m.

Unusual Incident:

On Nov. 21 at 6:15 p.m., a Lynbrook resident reported unknown person(s) loosened the lug nuts on a wheel of her 2003 Mitsubishi Montero while it was parked at 50 N. Park Ave. in Rockville Centre during the day on Nov. 18. The vehicle owner stated the wheel came off of her vehicle while she was driving home on Merrick Road in Lynbrook that same day.

Domestic Incident:

On Nov. 27 at 11:11 p.m., a complainant from Hempstead Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that she had a dispute with her boyfriend while at her residence that violated an active order of protection.

Narcotics:

On Nov. 21 at about 3 p.m., a Rockville Centre Police Neighborhood Aide reported finding a clear bag containing a white substance believed to be cocaine while he was issuing parking tickets on N. Village Avenue in Rockville Centre. The material was transported to NCPD HQ for destruction.

Property Lost:

On Nov. 23 at 1:01 p.m., a Lenox Road resident reported losing his retired NYPD identification card.
