Crime Watch Part Two: More Car Break-Ins and ID Theft

Recent police activity as reported by the RVC PD.

Larceny:

On July 12 at 11:30 a.m., a Woods Avenue resident reported an unknown person entered her unlocked vehicle and stole a GPS device and iPod while the car was parked in her driveway overnight.

On July 12 at 5:18 p.m., a River Avenue resident reported his Schwinn bicycle, which he had locked to a pole, was stolen from Front Street and N. Park Avenue between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.

On July 13 at 1:15 p.m., an Oakdale Road resident reported an unknown person broke the front passenger window on her 2001 Mercedes Benz and removed a navigation system valued at $2,500. Incident occurred while the vehicle was parked in her driveway overnight.

On July 15 at 2:10 p.m., a Baldwin resident reported he lost his wallet in the vicinity of S. Long Beach Road on July 8. Since losing his wallet, an unknown person has used his credit cards to make unauthorized purchases.

On July 16 at 12:22 p.m., a Massapequa resident reported her pocketbook was stolen from her vehicle while it was parked on N. Lewis Place. The victim recovered her pocketbook near the scene. Her wallet and iPod were missing.

On July 17 at 5:10 p.m., the manager at CVS, located at 155 Sunrise Highway, reported that while reviewing surveillance video, he observed a male subject steal over the counter medicine from the store.

Graffiti:

On July 16 at about 3 p.m., graffiti was found on the traffic signal box at N. Long Beach Road/Princeton Road.

ID Theft:

On July 16 at 3:30 p.m., a Seaman Avenue resident reported an unknown person used her credit card information to make fraudulent purchases.
