Crime Watch Part Two: Copper Piping Theft Causes $15K in Damages to Local Realty Office

Recent police activity as reported by the RVC PD.

Larceny:

On Dec. 6 at 9:10 a.m., a Buckminster Road resident reported an unknown person entered her unlocked 2001 Chrysler while it was parked at her home overnight and removed $10 and 75 music CDs valued at approximately $1,000.

On Dec. 6 at about 4:15 p.m., a waitress at Chichenitza, located at 212 Merrick Road, reported her cell phone was stolen by a coworker.

On Dec. 7, a complainant from Maple Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) stole two remote key pads for the garage door of her parking garage from her parked motor vehicle.

On Dec. 7 at 4:45 a.m., a complainant from Lincoln Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) stole property to include a check book from her motor vehicle parked in Municipal Parking Field No. 23 between 2:30 p.m. and 3:15 p.m.

On Dec. 11 at 11:20 p.m., a complainant from N. Park Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) stole property that included $1,800 and caused damage within the house without authorization on Dec. 10 between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. while her fourteen-year-old daughter was home.

On Dec. 9 at 4 a.m., a complainant from Catherine Street in Lynbrook reported that unknown person(s) stole her purse containing property including an iPhone from the back of a chair while at Churchill’s Bar, located 18 S. Park Ave. in Rockville Centre at approximately 2:50 a.m.

Criminal Mischief:

On Dec. 6 at 3:20 p.m., a realtor for 316 Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre reported an unknown person caused over $15,000 damage to the heating and cooling units of the building while stealing copper piping.

Graffiti:

On Dec. 9 at 9:55 a.m., a complainant from Diamond Cabinet, located at 82 S. Long Beach Road in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) placed graffiti on an exterior wall of his business sometime between Thursday, Dec. 8 at 4:30 p.m. and Dec. 9 at 8:45 a.m.

Property Damage:

On Dec. 8 at 1:50 a.m., a complainant from Rockaway Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that a large branch fell causing extensive damage to his residence.

On Dec. 10 at 9:15 a.m., a complainant from S. Park Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that his 2010 Chevrolet was damaged by unknown means while parked in the parking lot of 111 S. Centre Ave. in Rockville Centre on Dec. 5.

Found Property:

On Dec. 7 at 6:23 a.m., a complainant from Banks Avenue in Rockville Centre reported finding a BB gun in the parking garage.

Unusual Incident:

On Dec. 6 at 8:45 p.m., a Princeton Street resident reported an unknown person forged four checks against her bank account, total $21,400.

On Dec. 8 at 1:15 p.m., a complainant from Sally Lane in Oceanside reported that unknown person(s) stole assorted jewelry valued at approximately $15,000 from her mother’s apartment at Lenox Road in Rockville Centre sometime between May 15 and Aug. 17.

On Dec. 8 at 8:30 p.m., a complainant librarian at Rockville Centre Library, located at 221 N. Village Ave. in Rockville Centre reported that two known youths were overheard intending to attempt to make weapons and bring them to the South Side Middle School, Hillside Avenue in Rockville Centre.

On Dec. 7 at 7:45 p.m., complainant principal from South Side High School, located at 150 Shepherd St. in Rockville Centre reported that a camera containing photos of individuals displaying handguns and an assault rifle was removed from a student who resides on Old Mill Court in Rockville Centre. The individuals in the photos also displayed gang signs in varying locations including inside an apartment and in front of a movie theater.

On Dec. 5 at 11:45 a.m., a complainant from Jefferson Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) sent him a check for $3,850 that was written against a closed checking account.
