Crime Watch: Electric Wheelchair Stolen From Resident's Porch

Recent police activity as reported by the RVC PD.

The following information was supplied by the Rockville Centre Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Arrest:

On Feb. 19 at 4:26 p.m., Miguel A. Yanez, 29, of Long Beach, was arrested for aggravated driving while intoxicated, criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlicensed operation following a police investigation on Ongley Street and N. Long Beach Road in Rockville Centre.

On Feb. 17 at 3:08 p.m., Arthur W. Pierce, 62, of Lakeview, was arrested for a Nassau County bench warrant for third-degree criminal trespass following an investigation by police personnel at 1 College Place in Rockville Centre.

On Feb. 19 at 6:14 a.m., Raphael A. Jimenez, 42, of Oceanside, was arrested for driving while intoxicated and VTL violations following a police investigation on Sunrise Highway and N. Marion Place in Rockville Centre.

An Elmont woman was arrested by Nassau Police in Rockville Centre Wednesday night after robbing a car from a couple in Hempstead.

According to detectives, Jessica Morrow, 28, of Elmont, threatened a 28-year-old woman and a 31-year-old man with a kitchen knife at Wings and Things in Hempstead. Morrow allegedly then took the keys from the woman’s 1999 Mercedes Benz and fled the scene. Officers later arrested Morrow in the parking lot of Mercy Medical Center without incident.

Morrow is being charged with first-degree robbery, two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon and second-degree menacing. She was arraigned at First District Court on Feb. 23.

Larceny:

On Feb. 14 at 5:40 p.m., a complainant from N. Centre Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) stole her wallet with contents from a shopping cart while at Rite Aid, located at 168 N. Village Ave. in Rockville Centre.

On Feb. 15 at 3 p.m., complainant manager from Wild Ginger, located at 424 Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre, reported that a restaurant employee stole $743.75 and a $50 gift card during his shift as a waiter on Feb. 14.

On Feb. 16, a complainant from Warwick Road in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) stole coin valued at $10 from his motor vehicle parked in Municipal Parking Field No. 5 between 6:15-9:15 p.m.

On Feb. 19 at 7:45 p.m., a complainant from Hanover Place in Rockville Centre reported that on Feb. 15 sometime between 10 a.m. and 9:05 p.m., unknown person(s) removed his lightweight drive wheelchair valued at $2,500 from his porch without permission.

On Feb. 19 at 11:45 p.m., a complainant from Beatrice Court in Rockville Centre reported that an unknown male stole his Motorola Atrix 2 cell phone valued at $600 while at Kasey’s Bar, located at 23 N. Park Ave. in Rockville Centre.
