Crime Watch: Attempted Burglary at Park Avenue Pizzeria

Recent police activity as reported by the RVC PD.

The following information was supplied by the RVC Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Arrests:

On May 13 at 10 p.m., a 17-year-old male, of Rockville Centre, was arrested and charged with third-degree burglary after attempting to steal an undetermined amount of U.S. currency from the counter of Miceli’s Pizza, located at 19 North Park Ave. in Rockville Centre.

On May 14 at 12:03 a.m., Rashawn Strozier, 19, of Rockville Centre, was arrested and charged with false impersonation after providing a false name and date of birth to police personnel during an investigation at Miceli’s Pizza, located at 19 North Park Ave. in Rockville Centre.

On May 14 at 2:07 a.m. Michael P. Larocca, 23, of East Rockaway, was arrested and charged with third-degree assault after assaulting a male in the vicinity of 10 North Village Ave. in Rockville Centre.

On May 14 at 5:55 a.m., Mark P. Fletcher, 48, of South Hempstead, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated-impaired by drugs, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and VTL offenses on Peninsula Boulevard in Rockville Centre.

On May 15 at 2:24 a.m., Joseph G. Matos, 24, of Lindenhurst, was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest on North Village Avenue in Rockville Centre.

On May 15 at 9:50 p.m., Ramon Moreno, 53, of Rockville Centre, was arrested and charged with second-degree harassment and third-degree menacing after a physical altercation with his wife at their residence.   

On May 16 at 2:17 a.m., Justin K. Shuford, 23, of Freeport, was arrested and charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration at the scene of a domestic disturbance at Best Western Hotel, located at 173 Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre.  

Larceny:

On May 12  at 12:25 p.m., an employee of Starbucks, located at 21 North Park Ave. in Rockville Centre, reported that an unknown person(s) stole her cell phone while it was on the service counter sometime on May 11 between 8 p.m. and 9:50 p.m.

On May 13 at 11:49 a.m., a Baldwin resident reported that an unknown person stole her pocketbook, cell phone, and personal papers from her unlocked vehicle sometime on May 12 between 11:20 p.m. and 11:30 p.m., while it was parked in the parking lot at Taco Bell, located at 570 Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre.
