Crime Watch: $40K in Jewelry Stolen From South Centre Home

Recent police activity as reported by the RVC PD.

The following information was supplied by the Rockville Centre Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Arrests:

On Feb. 24 at 3:58 p.m., Robert F. Weiss, 17, of Rockville Centre, was arrested for criminal obstruction of breathing, third-degree assault and fourth-degree criminal mischief following an investigation by police personnel at his residence.

On Feb. 25 at 3:38 a.m., Kenneth R. Flaherty, 38, of Long Beach, was arrested for disorderly conduct following an investigation by police personnel on N. Park Avenue in Rockville Centre.

On Feb. 26 at 4:51 a.m., Albert Hidalgo, 28, of Hewlett, was arrested for second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation and VTL violations following an investigation by police personnel on Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre.

On Feb. 26 at 9:36 p.m., Sean M. Brown, 42, of Hempstead, was arrested for second-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, VTL violations and an open bench warrant from the City of Glen Cove following a police investigation on Hempstead Avenue in Rockville Centre.

Larceny:

On Feb. 20 at 9:30 p.m., a complainant from Miller Avenue in Oceanside reported that unknown person(s) stole $3.50 and ten compact discs from her motor vehicle parked at Front Street and N. Park Avenue in Rockville Centre on Feb. 19 between 8 a.m. and 5:50 p.m.

On Feb. 21 at 9:10 p.m., a complainant from S. Centre Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that unknown person(s) stole assorted jewelry valued at $39,580 from her residence sometime between Nov. 24 and Feb. 21.

On Feb. 23, a complainant from Hempstead Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that sometime between Feb. 20 at noon and Feb. 23 at noon, unknown person(s) stole headlight wipers valued at $450, an automobile grill valued at $150, iPod Nano valued at $150, and $100 from a 2009 BMW parked in his driveway.

On Feb. 23 at 3:30 p.m., a complainant from Villa Court in Hempstead reported that between May 24 and June 22, unknown person(s) deposited a check for $2,621 in her savings account and withdrew $5,000 from the same account without authorization.

On Feb. 23 at 3:25 p.m., a complainant from Rockaway Avenue in Rockville Centre reported that she wired $190 to unknown person(s) in India through Western Union regarding a loan request under false pretenses.

On Feb. 26 at 1:15 a.m., a complainant from West Boulevard in East Rockaway reported that sometime between Feb. 25 at 10 p.m. and Feb. 26 at 12:41 a.m., unknown person(s) stole a wallet from her sister’s motor vehicle parked in Municipal Parking Field No. 16 while at McFadden’s Bar.
