Cops: Man on Bike Robbed, Stabbed in RVC

Nassau County Police are looking for witnesses to an attempted robbery in which a victim was stabbed in the chest.

Detectives said a 55-year-old man was riding his bicycle near North Park Avenue and Front Street when a black Honda pulled up next to him. The driver reportedly asked for a lighter while two other men got out of the car and began fighting the victim, who eventually broke free and rode home, cops said.

The incident happened at 11:20 p.m. Wednesday.

When he got home he realized he had been stabbed once in the chest. He was transported to an area hospital where he was treated and released.
