Cops Investigating Attempted Citibank Robbery

Man handed demand note to teller in RVC bank but quickly left, cops said.

Cops are searching for a man who reportedly tried to rob a Rockville Centre bank Thursday morning.

A man approached a teller at Citibank on Merrick Road and gave them a demand note, according to Nassau County Police. After a few seconds, the man left the bank without taking any cash, cops said. He left and headed north through the bank's rear parking lot, detectives reported.

The incident happened at 11:57 a.m. Wednesday, cops said.

10 employees and two customers were in the bank at the time, but none were injured, police reported.

The subject is described as a white man, 35-40 years old, 5 feet 7 inches tall, wearing a light blue button down shirt, black jeans, a bandana on his head, and sunglasses.
