Armed Man Robs Victim Sitting in Car in South Hempstead

A man sitting in his car on Grand Avenue in South Hempstead early Sunday was robbed at gunpoint, police said.

On July 28 at 2:50 a.m., the 53-year-old male victim was inside his vehicle in the rear parking lot of 1084 Grand Ave. when an unknown male subject approached the passenger side of the vehicle and pointed a black handgun at him, police said. The subject demanded the victims cash and personal property, and the victim handed over cash, a watch and a bracelet. The victim then fled the vehicle without injury.

The subject — described as possibly a light skinned black man or Hispanic that was wearing dark clothing and a black bandana over his face — fled the scene in an unknown direction.
