what about a Golden Corral
Mark Newman January 12, 2012 at 05:31 PM
How about a Fairway Supermarket?
Deb January 12, 2012 at 06:05 PM
Trader Joe's would be nice or a book store.
Alex Cepero January 12, 2012 at 06:25 PM
This is the ideal place for a store like Whole Foods, not the vacant movie theater on Sunrise.

I agree with Mark! Fairway would be awesome...I'm tired of driving to Plainview!!! I have already sent a message to Fairway; jump on the bandwagon and send messages and get your friends to send messages to Fairway!!! Do it today!

trader joe's

Fairway is a great suggestion. I just contacted Fairway to but in my opinion.

I don't think the village want's another supermarket especially with king kullen. King Kullen controls RVC, rumors are that Bally's want to expand but i would like to see a Home Depot there.
Lynda Bonagura January 13, 2012 at 05:43 PM
Trader Joe's, Fairway or Whole Foods. I don't want to see King Kullen more crowded that it gets - that parking lot gets scary at times.
Jason January 14, 2012 at 12:02 AM
Home Depot?????? Be still my heart? You must be a tenant not an owner. Property value has dropped enough. Traffic, pollution and noise that would occur w/a Home Depot would cause further harm as well as RVCs few remaining businesses would pack up and leave! BADDDDDDDDDDD idea!

How about a pool!
Jason January 15, 2012 at 01:56 AM
POOL? Be still my heart??????// :|

I thinks something that serves our community like a fairway or whole foods would be best. Home depot, target, etc are not needed because they are close by in other towns, and I don't think the lot is big enough. Ballys probably won't expand since they have been in and out of bankruptcy for the past 10 years. Also I don't know anyone from rvc who actually goes there, but that's besides the point.

the new aqueduct racino has made $90 million in the two months since it opened.all that $$ went to the state-no benefit at all to the towns and villages. so why not open a satellite racino here? even in this economy it would do well.
Jason January 18, 2012 at 05:35 PM
Icarumba...........?? all I can say to that is............................... Icarumba :| ??? what are you thinking???
icarumba January 18, 2012 at 09:42 PM
jason- on another thread or post i made close to a dozen suggestions. almost everyone found fault with every one. yet they all think that the most expensive retail supermarket with the highest prices in the worst economy in fifty years will do just fine. im scratching my head. maybe i should have been tongue-in-cheek about the racino. but there has to be a middle ground between the racino and whole foods. NIMBY'ism, among other things is destroying long island. if you dont like any of my 13+ suggestions, what do you propose instead?
Frank January 18, 2012 at 10:22 PM
@ all on string. No suggestion is wrong. discourse is great. We just need to get the message out to all of RVC. we're looking at three major properties in RVC to go vacant/idle in 2012... In this economy, that is suicide. We need real leadership to attract the right kind of business for our village.
Jason January 18, 2012 at 11:57 PM
Leadership??? We can't get a pothole filled or a street light fixed??? Talk about incompetency?? Lynbrook has been busy upgrading their lighting, as well as planting trees and other niceties to attract new businesses which seem to have worked on Sunrise and Atlantic. RVC has done what?? It's totally the voters fault, total apathy.... I have no hope for anything better for years? Until accountability supersedes patronage and politics this will continue.
John January 19, 2012 at 02:36 AM
How about another few bars. LOL
icarumba January 19, 2012 at 03:03 AM
jason- lynbrook applied for-years ago- and finally got state grant monies to upgrade the lighting, plant trees, etc they are finally learning that appearances are "reality". agree 100% about the voters- ive never seen such apathy. john- maybe "gentlemans quarters" in baldwin would like to open a second location in rvc <<grin>>
