Not Such a Super Week for the RVC Spartan's Ice Hockey Team
Anticipating Super Bowl Sunday,Super Bowl Week has seen all kinds of newspaper articles,TV promo's,talk shows, media blitz, events in Times Square, all hyping the big game this week. For the RVC Spartan's Ice Hockey Team things this week have not gone as super! Let's start off with Monday night's game against the Long Beach Ice Hockey Team. The 11-4 loss was not a pretty sight ! I will not write a recap of this game it's much to painful.Instead let's move to Wednesday night's game against the Manhasett team. This was a slight improvement,it was cancelled due to a lack of player's and should be rescheduled. We now fast forward to the Saturday morning game vs the Garden City team at the Long Beach arena.Guess what? At 10:15 am 45 min before the drop of the puck, I get a call from coach George that the game is cancelled. The Garden City team has no goalie.OK ! They forfeit the game we win, that was easy. What a week,so to recap all these wonderful events we have the following, 1 easy win,1 hard loss, and 1 rescheduled game.I guess you can say we are 1-1-1- for the week. Not what I consider a super week but it could have been worse. Good Luck to all in tomorrow's Super Bowl pool.
