Golf Fundraiser to Raise Emergency Funds for RVC Residents

Tickets are still available for the 26th Annual Mayor’s Golf Classic on Sept. 30, which provides emergency assistance funds for residents of Rockville Centre.

The event, hosted by Rockville Links Country Club, is the primary fundraiser for the Rockville Centre Community Fund, which has provided nearly $1.5 million in emergency assistance since 1987. In 2001, a special fund was established inside the Community Fund that provided assistance to RVC families who lost loved ones on 9/11.

This year’s Golf Classic will honor Bob Schenone, a longtime resident of Rockville Centre and member of the Rockville Centre Conservancy Board.

“It is my great pleasure and privilege to honor one of Rockville Centre’s best friends,” Mayor Francis Murray said.

The donation for breakfast, lunch, cocktails and dinner as well as a round of golf at the Rockville Links Country Club is $350. Dinner-only tickets are $125. Journal ads are also still available, but must be reserved by Sept. 16.
