Top 10 Worst North Side Potholes

An abnormal amount of snowfall this winter has damaged village streets.

(Part one of a three-part series)

An inordinate amount of snow has fallen this winter, and with that comes damage to village roads. Potholes are created when snow melts and water fills the cracks in the road. When it freezes, it expands and creates what motorists hate most: potholes.

Here's a list of the top ten worst potholes, in no particular order, on the North Side of town.

  • Allen Road — Look out for the 2.5 foot pothole that's around two inches deep.
  • Bulson Road — Though many of the potholes on this block have been repaired, I found one that was 16-inches wide. Beware!
  • Banbury Road — On the corner of Banbury and North Village Avenue, there is a massive pothole that measures nearly five feet across.
  • Dartmouth Street — A smaller, two-foot wide pothole lies in the middle of the street, but it's about four inches deep.
  • Marvin Avenue — A pothole that was around 14-inches in diameter.
  • Royal Road — There are 4-6 potholes on this village street, with sizes ranging from eight inches to three feet.
  • Locust Avenue — Nearly one-foot in diameter.
  • Madison Avenue — This 1.5 foot long pothole contains a bevy of broken rocks and torn up street.
  • Schuyler Avenue — Don't get your tire ripped in this two-foot wide pothole.
