Oct. 18: Huge Soccer Win, Blood Drive

  1. The Jericho Jayhawks boys soccer team had surrendered just one goal this season and hadn't lost in 24 games dating back to last season (including a state championship) -- that was until the South Side Cyclones scored in the eighth minute Wednesday afternoon and held off the Jayhawks attack for a huge 1-0 upset win. South Side senior Mark Romanowski scored the game's only goal.
  2. South Nassau Communities Hospital is hosting an emergency blood drive today from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. To schedule an appointment to donate blood, call South Nassau’s Human Resources Department at (516) 632-4080. For medical questions concerning blood donations call 1-800-688-0900.
