Jan. 27: Adult Game Night, French Cooking Class and DIY Design TIps

It's Thursday, and that means only one more day of work before the weekend! So as you prepare to finish up your work week, let us tell you what's going on in RVC today.

1. If you have a child under 5 and want to spend some quality time with them, check out hosted at the Rockville Centre Public Library from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Community resource professionals are on hand to discuss topics such as: child development, nutrition, speech and language, and movement and music. Pre-registration is required. Call 516-766-6257.

2. What about some fun for the adults? The Rockville Centre Library has you covered as well. From 6:30-8:30 p.m., the library is hosting a for adults with everything from Nintendo Wii to mahjong or chess. Reserve tables in advance at the Adult Reference Desk or walk in.

3. Tired of the same stuff for dinner? Just next door in neighboring Lynbrook, A La Carte Culinary services on Atlantic Avenue is hosting a classic French bistro from 7-9:30 p.m.  The cost is $119, and you can choose  between two main dishes: caramelized onion, roasted red pepper and goat cheese pissaladière; grilled monkfish brochettes with orange butter sauce, or roasted duck breasts with green peppercorn sauce, butternut rice pilaf and classic lemon tart citron.
