George Martin’s Burger Bar to Open in RVC

New N. Long Beach Road burger bar to tentatively open June 1.

Good things come in threes — or so the saying goes.

The saying might become the new motto for George Martin as the restaurant group will open the doors to its third Rockville Centre eatery in June.

With a tentative opening date of June 1, GM Burger Bar will join relatives George Martin and Grillfire to provide residents with a new take on an American classic.

GM Burger Bar will replace the former RVC Gourmet Deli and Catering, located at 209 N. Long Beach Road.

General Manager Matthew Chapman said that the old deli will be a far cry from the new burger bar.

“The design is going to be incredible,” Chapman said. “[It’s] a combination of steampunk metal and pipes mixed with the western style charm of reclaimed wood and longhorns.”

If the indoor space isn’t enough, Chapman says the outdoor seating — which seats approximately 20 people — should do the trick.

From retro burger lovers to new-age burger aficionados, the menu will feature something for everyone.

For those unwavering in their desire for a classic burger or children bound and determined for an old-fashioned shake or float, GM Burger Bar will be there to support the cravings.

Burger Bar features all of the normal burger fixtures and an extensive shake and float list, along with a number of non burger-related entrees.

However, for those looking to try something new, Chapman said Burger Bar has dozens of new takes on the classic, from the “Steak 'N Bacon 'N Eggs Burger” to a “Veggie Quinoa Burger.”

The twists don’t stop at the burger though. Executive Chef Frank Greco has added a “pretzel bun” to the menu, as well as oversized English muffins for items like the aforementioned “Steak 'N Bacon 'N Eggs Burger”.

Then there’s the bar, which will feature an impressive beer selection — 12 rotating on tap with 50 in bottles and cans, to be exact — and a “killer” wine list.

Add beer flights and cheese plates to the list of items that pull GM Burger Bar out of the burger norm and place it in a category of its own.

“It’s going to cater to a different crowd,” said Chapman, who added that the bar will give adults an option to go to away from the often-crowded main strip in the village.

“There’s something for everybody,” Chapman said. “... There's going to be nothing generic at Burger Bar.”
