Business Q&A: Mormile Florist

The family-owned shop caters to weddings, holidays and special occasions.

With Mother’s Day right around the corner, Bill Kakis, owner of Mormile Florist on North Long Beach Road, is working to fill his customers orders with the elaborate floral arrangements that his shop is known for. In addition to their special holiday arrangements, Mormile Florist has been catering to weddings, birthdays, anniversaries and funerals for more than 50 years.

Where do you find the large variety of flowers that you offer in the shop?

We import the most beautiful and desirable flowers from every corner of the world. Our family, along with our creative and talented staff of award-winning designers, has been providing beautiful flowers to the fine homes, country clubs and catering halls in the Tri-State area for four generations.

Can customers create their own arrangements if they don’t see a design that fits their need in the shop or online?

The Mormile website features a section for custom orders where you can select the type of occasion, the recipient, the price range and any special requests. When you order custom designs, they will be produced as closely as possible to your request. Our professional staff of floral designers is always eager to discuss any special design or product requests.

How do you cater to all the details of wedding flower orders?

No doubt you’ve gone to great lengths to select the perfect dress and accessories for your wedding. Your flowers deserve the same discrimination. Mormile Florist has a dedicated wedding website, www.nyweddingflowers.com, where customers can request price estimates, see pictures from past ceremonies and receptions and view a list of venues that Mormile Florist has worked with.

What type of services do you provide for more somber occasions such as funerals?

We offer daily delivery service to all local funeral homes and hospitals. You can depend on us to help you choose flowers that beautifully convey your expressions of sympathy and serve as a lovely tribute to the deceased.

How does the Mormile team ensure that customers get the best experience possible?

The shop is open seven days per week from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays through Saturdays and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sundays. Our trained and professional staff is ready to assist you with your order or any questions you may have and will be happy to take your order or a message 24 hours per day, seven days per week. We offer daily deliveries in all of Nassau County, Western Suffolk County, Queens and Brooklyn for orders placed by noon. We even travel worldwide for special events.
