This Weekend's Local Garage Sales

Sometimes we find what we're looking for when we least expect it. Scouring garage sales is a good way to find what you want at a discount price.

With that in mind, here's a list of local weekend garage sales. Check out the map adjacent to the article for directions to each sale.

Sept. 11

• When: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
• What's being sold: Household items, glassware, tools, clothing, auto supplies, Harley Davidson parts, collectibles, furniture, books, toys and electronics.

Sept. 11, 12

• Where: Adams Street, Baldwin Harbor
• When: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
• What's being sold: Vacuums, sliding door cabinets, dog step ramp, dog toys, school supplies, figurines, car wash kit and electric hot dog cart.

Sept. 11

• Where: 123 Lincoln Street, Garden City
• When: 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.
• What's being sold: Designer clothing — Abercrombie, Ann Taylor, Hollister — authentic leather hand bags (Louis Vuitton, Fendi, Dooney & Burke) vintage flower pins, old records, antique china, sports equipment, lacrosse sticks, goalie equipment, lamps, wrought-iron bird bath, tools and country home items.

Sept. 11

• Where: Locust Avenue, Freeport
• When: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
• What's being sold: Multi-family yard sale, too much to list.

Sept. 11, 12

• Where: 846 Maloon Avenue, Franklin Square
• When: 8 a.m. - 3 p.m.
• What's being sold: Video games, camping supplies, Lionel Train parts, clocks, sporting goods, gardening tools, elementary second grade books author sets with many titles, rehab equipment, teacher tools, teacher gifts, physical therapy products, bikes, Disney items.

Sept. 11, 12

• Where: 1017 Third Avenue, Franklin Square
• When: 10 a.m. -  5 p.m.
• What's being sold: Every day items, accessories, jewelry, luggage and Annalee dolls.

Sept. 11

• Where: 387 Roosevelt Blvd., West Hempstead
• When: 10 a.m. - 3 p.m.
• What's being sold: Baby clothes, toys, baby gear, golf clubs, TV, VCR, oak furniture, wrought-iron table and four chairs, stereo and speakers, household items like decorations and dishes, handbags.

Sept. 11

• Where: 2380 Kenmore St., East Meadow
• When: 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.
• What's being sold: Large freezer, bathroom sink with painted tulips, faucet, wall sconces, small refrigerator, old school desks, vintage clothing (Persian lamb coat from the '40s) Northface jacket, abercrombie pants, girls sizes 14/16, boys sizes 8/10 clothing and coats, misses business suits and other clothing size 10/12, toys, toy chest and videos.

Sept. 11, 12

• Where: 19 Oxford St., Malverne
• When: 9 a.m. - 5 p.m.
• What's being sold: Housewares, electronics, clothing, school supplies, antiques, collectibles — **Massive Collection of Matchbox & Hot Wheels Die Cast Collectibles** Ranging from vintage to modern, very hard to find to variations, etc. Most are in mint condition and in original package.
