RVC's Morvillo to be Honored by South Nassau

Local resident will be honoree at hospital's annual Carnation Ball in November.

Attorney and Rockville Centre resident, Robert G. Morvillo, will be the honoree at South Nassau Communities Hospital's 2010 Annual Carnation Ball on Saturday, Nov. 6 at the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City.

The hospital is located on the border of Rockville Centre and Oceanside.

"The leadership provided by Mr. Morvillo and his commitment to service excellence have been vital to South Nassau's ongoing expansion to meet the healthcare needs of the patients and communities we serve," said Joseph A. Quagliata, president and CEO of South Nassau.

The Carnation Ball honoree is recognized for exemplary leadership and contributions in support of South Nassau's mission to provide cost-effective, high-quality healthcare. Morvillo has served on South Nassau's board directors since 2004 and his support and generosity has helped the hospital continue to grow despite a tumultuous economy for New York's hospitals.

This support is underscored by the opening of the hospital's Center for Cardiovascular Health and Center for Advanced Orthopedics and Long Island Joint Replacement Institute; the introduction of state-of-the art medical technologies such as the Varian Novalis Tx — the medical industry's most advanced radiosurgery system — the da Vinci Robotic Surgical System, and advanced medical treatments including minimally-invasive joint replacement surgery, laparoscopic weight-loss surgery and elective angioplasty.
