Mercy Medical Center is hosting a free lecture on “Everything You Need to Know About Cholesterol” to be presented at the hospital on May 30 at 7:30 p.m.
The hour-long presentation will be given by Dr. Michael Moskowitz of Bellmore Family Practice.
High cholesterol is one the major risk factor in heart disease, heart attack and stroke. But cholesterol also is an essential substance created and used in the body to keep us healthy.
The lecture will include an explanation of so-called “good” and “bad” cholesterol in the blood and how to maintain healthy levels of both.
Advance registration for the presentation is not required. The lecture will be conducted in the employee dining room on the lower level of the hospital’s North Pavilion. Ample convenient free parking will be available.
