Rockville Centre Mayor Francis Murray joined with the Friends of Senior Service, Inc. (FOSSI) to honor Dr. Cyd Charrow at its annual Monte Carlo Night at the end of April.
Charrow, Director of Senior Services for the Village of Rockville Centre, who will be retiring from her post at the end of May, was honored for her years of service to FOSSI and the Village of Rockville Centre.
Charrow's efforts were nationally recognized in 2001. The Sandel Center became the first Senior Center on Long Island, and the 85th in the country, to achieve the prestigious designation of Accreditation by the National Council on Aging and the National Institute of Senior Centers.
