Macabre Halloween Faire Set to Haunt RVC

The Macabre Faire Grim Gathering Halloween Extravaganza is coming to Rockville Centre from Oct. 19-21 at the Best Western Hotel located at 173 Sunrise Highway.

The event will showcase a variety of Macabre/Steampunk vendors, live bands, horror movie madness surprises, a gothic tea party, a 45-minute horror play called "The Dinner Party," freak show acts by Karnevil and Circus of the Bizarre, ghost story-telling at midnight by candlelight, monster karaoke, fashion shows, DJ Macabre spinning macabre tunes and a haunted house.

There will even be a "Safe Halloween" experience for the kiddies with a three-hour Spooky Time Family 4 Pack from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20-21. The family event will include games, arts & crafts to make a trick 'r treat bag to be used for candy gathering in the vendor room, a costume contest each day and a feature-length Halloween movie surprise.

Celebrity guest appearances will be made by Douglas Tait of "Freddy vs Jason," Edward X. Young of "Mr. Hush," Matt Wayne of "Celebrity Magician," Salvatore Rizzo of "The DeadFather" and Long Island native Eileen Dietz of "The Exorcist."

Vendors will display an eclectic array of merchandise from Renaissance clothing/accessories to horror props, as well as Macabre-themed gifts/gadgets and ghost hunting.

Discussion rooms will also be available to talk about the Samhain Holiday, gothic monsters and their mechanics, the Amityville Horror House and surviving the zombie apocalypse, among other subjects. These panels of discussion will be rotated with horror movies appropriately chosen for the Halloween season and for those who love ... well, horror.

The event begins on Oct. 19 from 5 p.m. - 12 a.m. and breaks only for sleep to then continue on for Oct. 20 from 10 a.m. - 12 a.m. and Oct. 21 from 11 a.m. - 6 p.m.
