Community Garden Coming to Jefferson Avenue

Garden part of joint sponsorship between village, Molloy College and RVC Conservancy.

Rockville Centre Mayor Francis X. Murray has announced a joint sponsorship between the Village of Rockville Centre, Molloy College and the Rockville Centre Conservancy to establish a community organic garden on Jefferson Avenue, near Associated Supermarket.

The conservancy will be leasing 4-foot by 6-foot raised beds, which will be filled with soil and compost, at a cost of $100 for the season.

There will be a master gardener working with the garden to bring in some plants and provide advice. The leasing gardener would be responsible for weeding and making sure their plot in the garden is kept up.
