News shared by the community on Rockville Centre Patch.

It was a busy week on Rockville Centre Patch, and your neighbors shared a number of stories pertaining to the Rockville Centre community.

Here's a look at some interesting boards posts from the past week:

  • Rockville Centre Junior FD Car Wash: Rockville Centre Jr. Fire Department annual car wash Sunday, Aug. 4 at 103 Maple Ave. from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Volunteers on Mission Trip to Long Beach: The Garden City Community Church sponsored its annual Mission Trip in mid-July for 43 students and adult leaders.
  • Santino: Our Community Must Do Better: More than 2000 years ago, the Ancient Greeks’ Ephebic Oath was a sworn statement declaring civic virtue.  All Greeks swore not to bring dishonor or disgrace to their city and to leave it greater and more beautiful –better – than the way it was inherited.
  • Old Victorian House to be Knocked Down: I can't believe that very old Victorian house on Davison Place was bought by a builder to be knocked down instead of restoring it back to its original beauty!
  • Free Family-Friendly Newsletter: Long Beach-Oceanside-Rockville Centre Macaroni Kid is a free weekly online newsletter and website giving you all the family friendly events in our area.
