A Festival for the Festival of Lights

Recreation center hosts annual Hannukah party with food, music and games for kids.

For more than four decades the village, sponsored by the National Council of Jewish Woman, has held a Hannukah party at thefor its Jewish residents, and this year was no different.

Around 40 kids and parents attended the annual gala which served pizza and latkas for its attendees, as well as magician for the youngsters and a holiday Menorah lighting ceremony conducted by Rabbi Howard Diamond from Temple B'nai Sholom. The food and balloons for the party were donated by local businesses Masters Flowers and Company and King Kullen.

RVC resident Robin Sackstein, who has run the annual holiday program for the past five years, said that the party was free to attend, but they asked those who came to bring a brand-new toy to donate to a local charity. "This is a great opportunity for the community to get together and celebrate the holidays together," Sackstein said.
