TUNE IN TONIGHT: WLIW21's "Long Island Business Report" Continues Its Examination of the Pension Debate

Tonight at 7 p.m. on WLIW21, Long Island Business Report, the weekly half-hour program that explores issues affecting Long Island, will continue its examination of the pension debate.

Public employee pensions have emerged as a major issue in New York, which operates the third largest pension plan in the United States. Long Island Business Report takes an in-depth look at how public pensions affect Long Island taxpayers, employers and workers in The Pension Debate: Obligations, Shortcomings and Reform.

Emmy-award winning journalist (and longtime Rockville Centre resident) Jim Paymar speaks to Steve Levy, executive director of the Center for Cost Effective Government and former Suffolk County executive and Nick LaMorte, Long Island region president of the Civil Service Employees Association, to debate the workers' interests and those of local government as it pertains to public employee pensions.
