Police: Oceanside Man Stabbed Mom's Boyfriend

Argument ends with stabbing in Oceanside home.

The Fourth Squad reports the arrest of a Oceanside man for an Assault that occurred on Sunday, June 23, 2013 at 12:45 am in Oceanside.

An Oceanside man was arrested early Sunday morning after allegedly stabbing his mother's 60-year-old boyfriend during an argument.

According to Nassau County detectives, the boyfriend was watching television in the living room of the Oceanside residence when he asked the defendant, 28-year-old Jimmy L. Godsey, not to enter into his mother's room.

Police said an argument ensued and the two began pushing one another. Godsey left the living room after the physical confrontation and returned with a black handled folding knife.

Police said Godsey then struck his mother's boyfriend on the right side of his neck causing a laceration. He then ran out of the house and surrendered shortly after when police arrived.

The victim was transported by a Nassau County Ambulance and was treated at a nearby hospital for a non-life threatening injury.

Godsey is charged with assault in the second degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree. He will be arraigned at First District Court in Hempstead on Sunday.
