Cops Hunting TD Bank Robber

Rockville Centre bank robbed, subject fled the scene Friday afternoon, police reported.

Police are searching for a man they said robbed a Rockville Centre bank early Friday afternoon, Nassau Detectives said.

Robbery Squad said an unidentified man entered TD Bank on Merrick Road and presented a demand note to the teller. After obtaining an undisclosed amount of cash, the subject fled east on the north side of Merrick Avenue on foot, cops said.

The robbery happened at 2:15 p.m. Friday. Seven employees and one customer were present at the time, but none were reportedly injured.

The subject is described as a black man, 55-60 years old, and was 5 feet 10 inches tall. At the time of the robbery, he was wearing a dark baseball cap, a dark hooded jacket, a scarf, and jeans, cops said.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about this crime to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
