Crime Watch: Man Robbed at Gunpoint Near N. Park Ave

The following information was supplied by the Rockville Centre Police Department. A criminal charge is only an accusation, and does not indicate convictions.

Arrests

• On July 10 at 2:33 a.m., Randy E. Almonte, 28, of Roslyn Heights, was arrested on a bench warrant for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol following an investigation by police personnel on Merrick Road in Rockville Centre.

Robbery

• On July 11 at 1:40 a.m., a Bronx resident reported that at approximately 12:20 a.m., an unknown male subject ran up to him and attempted to steal his backpack while he was walking on Lincoln Avenue in Rockville Centre. The victim then reportedly chased the male suspect, at which time a physical altercation took place and the victim sustained a laceration to his finger.

• On July 12 at 2:02 p.m., complainant from Freeport reported that on at approximately 1:55 p.m., while in the vicinity of N. Park Avenue and Sunrise Highway in Rockville Centre, two unknown males displayed a handgun and stole a T-Mobile cellphone and $1,500. The male suspects reportedly fled westbound on Sunrise Highway in a yellow motor vehicle.
