Dancers Get Kick Out of Rockette Lesson

Young dancers at Miss Colleen's Elite Dancenter got a kick out of a special class taught by two Rockettes.

Kristin Altfather and Kara Dunleavy, Rockettes hailing from Long Beach, led a class of dancers through the routine for the show's famed "Let Christmas Shine" number.

"It's great for us to come and teach the kids and dance with them," said Dunleavy. "And we know that the kids love it as much as we do so we just had a blast."

Miss Colleen's class is one of five from the tristate area competing to win a private Rockette Experience. The winners will attend a four-hour program at Radio City Music Hall where they will learn original choreography, take a behind the scenes Radio City Stage Door Tour, participate in an exclusive Q&A, and capture the day by taking pictures with the Rockettes.
