I think a town pool with the right structure and parking capacity and access would be a very nice…Read More addition to the health of our Village. There are a lot of children and adults in RVC who can not afford the summer beach club life style. I have no reason to suspect the children of RVC going to a pool will be a step towards anarchy and lawlessness. I believe the opposite will be true. A hot summer and a cool pool makes everybody happy. Many other towns have pools and I haven't heard of any anarchy or lawlessness there.
I wish all the people of RVC a good Memorial Day Holiday

The Mayor will have to get permission from Molloy College his 50/50 co owner or leasee of the…Read More fields. He is continuing the very close relationship established years ago when an earlier Mayor gave away Village property to Molloy College. When the Mayor gets approval from Molloy, he can continue to give and he will not need to account for, or be responsible to the rightful owners of Centennial Park and the Skelos Field Complex THE RESIDENTS. Tick Tock

A quick google inquiry shows this kid trespassed at a home party he was not invited to, and along…Read More with a gang of similarly behaving youths swung a sign post at the father of the teenaged girl whose party they were trying to crash (who was desperately trying to keep things from getting out of hand) Thus.... the "getting shot by a nieghbor" angle that is glossed over here.
Fatima, perhaps you should have picked a more deserving individual, as surely there are plenty in Lakeview who have done much more positive things than this kid ever did. Perhaps this is more about you..... than Roderick.
Just sayin.

that's screwed up. She put in all that work to be snubbed by Nassau County.
incredibile. Long…Read More Island Pols answer to no one. its as if the idea of a consitutuency is as alien as life on Mars.
And Carnell is wrong. There are many, many parks in Nassau that are named after individuals...

It's hard to balance the needs for a vibrant economy which Bonehead Rest. brings to the village and…Read More the increase parking problem it brings with it.
The one good thing the Mayor did was eliminate parking fees after 6:00 PM. Once again the hard choice to balance the vibrant economy with increasing the village parking problems. The Mayor chose taking the wrong side of managing the growth of the Village.
His administration directly aided the Bonehead restaurant from adding the required 54 additional spaces. This choice increases the vehicular threat to the public by adding more
traffic to one of the most dangerous traffic crossings in the village.
The Village guided the Bonehead's application for approval and recommended that the original free standing Bonehead design be changed to a building which abuts an existing building.
By giving this advise at the expense of the public he helped the Bonehead skate the building code and stopped the addition of 54 required parking spots. This is my belief based on the Zoning board appeals meeting on the Bonehead application.
I want to say good things about my Mayor but he makes it very hard for me when he directly makes decisions behind close doors . Often, by not including all board members.
This decision to operate behind closed doors like the Molloy athletic fields and adding stadium lighting to SSHS. Where he asks for public input and then does what he thinks is best. This would be okay if he was the King.
The next demonstration of not getting real public input will be the location of future rooftop parking.

What's the point? Johnson and his puppet crew will get what they want. They scare the PTA and all…Read More the school age parents to vote yes. If they miss the budget they get another shot and if that fails they will float another bond... The only solution is to try and get the no votes to the polls. LOL. There are many complainers here in RVC however when its time to vote they remain on there couch. A change in the rubber stamp school board would be nice however the PTA and company will vote for O' Shea a good person however just a rubber stamp. A group has to form to rally and pick up there voters, and not just seniors but people who can think for themselves.

I know it is too late for tomorrow but had anyone checked to see how many administrators,…Read More asst.administrators, asst. Superintrndants, aides and non teaching staff we have in RVC and what the numbers ($) are against the actual teaching staff for such a small student population? Everyone's afraid to take on the board of Ed and the administrators. Can anyone spell Syosset?

The vote has passed and that is that. The PTA's and there friends and family come out every year to…Read More support the budget, good for them. The folks who complain year in and out for the most part do not come out and vote just complain. I feel both O'Shea and the newcomer were supported only supported by yes or no votes. I have felt for a long time that the school board rubber stamps everything however the vote is in and on to next year!!!
Chris May 22, 2013 at 11:49 pm
3500 out of 24000 voted. That isn't something for either side to crow about.
