St. Agnes Cathedral

The St. Agnes Cathedral has a long history in Rockville Centre, dating back to 1887. The first mass was celebrated that year, and the original church was erected in 1904. The actual cathedral, which was constructed in a 15th century Norman Gothic style, was built 75 years ago and has been the home base for the Diocese of Rockville Centre for the past 53 years. The diocese, which encompasses Nassau and Suffolk counties, is the second largest in the country with over 370 priests, 771 religious women, 72 brothers and 250 deacons in the ministry. St. Agnes offers prayer services on Saturday at 5 p.m. and Sunday at 7 a.m., 8 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m and 5 p.m.
