Annual Fair Comes to Hewitt School on Sunday

The Hewitt Elementary School grounds on Sunday will once transform turn into a festival featuring games, rides, food, a petting zoo and music.

The annual tradition raises funds for the school PTA for the entire year, which goes right back to the students in the form of arts programs, including assembles and special events, field day, year book and field trips, according to Beth Ann Schultz Borruso of the Hewitt PTA.

This year’s event also features inflatable bouncy houses, a photo both, silly string tent, face and hair painting, arts and crafts and tattoos. Along with fair staples cotton candy and popcorn, there will be barbecue burgers, hot dogs, chicken.

Schultz Borruso gave a special mention to the raffle baskets, which feature items and gift certificates donated by local businesses and families.

“Even before I had children in the school,” she said, “I would take my little ones to the Hewitt Fair for a great day of fall fun and activities.”
