Medical Talks, Auction for Lunch With Mayor Murray

Here are some things coming up this week:

  • Dr. Joel Benowitz, an attending surgeon at Mercy Medical Center who specializes in breast surgery, will provide an update on diagnosing breast cancer and treatment options on Monday at 7:30 p.m.
  • Dr. Leon Mullen, a cardiologist at Mercy Medical Center for over 20 years, will address why diabetes is a strong risk factor for cardiovascular disease, heart attacks, strokes and amputations on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
  • There will be a free screening of the film, "Koran by Heart," at Molloy College on Wednesday at 6 p.m.
  • Vineyard Church will host the "All In" Women's Conference on Saturday at 9:30 a.m.
  • There will be an open-to-all doggy costume party in the parking lot behind Sky Athletic Club on Saturday from 12:30 to 2 p.m.
  • In observance of All Soul's Day, The Church of The Ascension will be celebrating a Solemn High Requiem Mass, featuring the music of Gabriel Faure sung by the Ascension Choir, on Saturday at 5 p.m.
  • The Girl Scouts of Nassau County's first “Autumn Evening of Jazz” benefit will take place on Saturday from 6 to 10 p.m. at the Madison Theatre at Molloy College.
  • Congregation B'nai Sholom-Beth David will host an auction on Saturday at 8 p.m. Prizes include lunch with Mayor Francis Murray.
  • Valley Stream Mom presents the third annual "Wear it Again" Costume Party on Saturday at 5 p.m., which will features contests, prizes, treats, crafts, and a "Thriller" dance tutorial and performance.
