As the new week approaches, let's look back on some of last week's stories that were featured in Rockville Centre Patch. A South Side High School alum ran a charity basketball tournament to fundraise for kids with AIDS, while former Nassau County District Attorney and RVC resident, Denis Dillion, died at 76. Patch opened its 100th site, SSHS football opened camp for the season, and relics of a 17th century French nun were on display at St. Agnes.
Rockville Centre Patch also found out how local leaders felt about a mosque opening at Ground Zero. We looked int0 the personal life of RVC PD Commissioner Charles Gennario — he loves Neil Diamond — why the village is experiencing its largest vacancy rate for businesses in 18 years, and how a local Kellenberg grad worked his way to being among the top 40 debaters in the country.
All of these stories were brought to you by Anthony Bottan, Drew Moss, Zak Failla, Jesse Yomtov, Natalie Johnson, Allison Gayne and Christina Shanahan.
