Help Auto Shop 'Fill the Bag' for Families in Need

A Rockville Centre auto repair shop needs volunteers next week to help it create about 10,000 grocery bags of Thanksgiving food for the needy.

Mid Island Collision’s second annual “Fill the Bag” event takes place from Monday to Wednesday at 20 Lakeview Avenue. The shop purchased more than $120,000 of non-perishable groceries that will provide more than 12,000 Thanksgiving meals for Long Islanders in need.

Last year, over 400 volunteers from across the tri-state area gave their time to assist Mid Island Collision. The repair shop said more volunteers will be needed this year since more food was purchased.
